About the Powell-Peralta Skull and Sword Artwork;
The "Skull and Sword" deck graphic was Powell-Peralta's first pro signature graphic, produced for the first member of the Powell-Peralta "Bones Brigade", Ray "Bones" Rodriguez. The graphic was conceived by Ray and Illustrated by V.C. Johnson with art direction from George Powell in 1979.
In 1983 the Skull and Sword graphic was adapted for use on other Powell-Peralta products, Ray's signature being replaced with the Powell-Peralta script logo.
